SMALL GROUP PERSONAL TRAINING

SMALL GROUP PERSONAL TRAINING

At Acer Fitness we are here to help people on the Hypermobility Spectrum live their lives to the fullest. There are very few specialist trainers out there who truly understand the challenges of living with this condition, and it is our goal to help as many people as we can.

Small Group Personal Training has several benefits that allows us to reach many more people.

Cost
Personal Trainers are available in many price brackets, but employing an expert to help you isn’t cheap. Small Group Training is more cost effective than one to one training, making it more affordable for far more people.

Time
Our Personal Training sessions are in high demand. If we can help four clients at once, we can help 4 times more people! This is a huge win in our goal to making strength and fitness training for hypermobile clients accessible to as many as possible.

Location
In the past we were only able to train people that we could physically travel to. But thanks to technology and the way the pandemic changed the way many of us live and work, this is no longer a restriction. We have clients that we train via live video link all over the country, so wherever you are, you will still be able to train together.

All our groups are restricted to a maximum of just 4 people.

Joint Hypermobility Spectrum Disorders are hugely varied in their presentation and symptoms can change on a daily basis. With just 4 people we can successfully adapt each session depending on how each individual client within the group is presenting on any given day. Because our trainers are so experienced, we really can think on our feet and modify exercises instantly so that the group isn’t held back.

Having a maximum of 4 also allows us to ensure that you are getting the individual attention you need within a group setting.

Form and execution are hugely important when training people with HSD and hEDS, in order to minimise the risk of injuries and factor in proprioception issues and dislocation risks. Limiting the numbers in this way allows us to ensure you are still getting the personal attention you would expect from your trainer. It provides a real connection between client and trainer that a class environment cannot match. This isn’t just a small fitness class, it is true small group personal training.

Following on from an initial consultation we will assign you to a group who have a similar range of symptoms, fitness levels and goals.
A small group creates a supportive and positive atmosphere.

Working in a group provides additional motivation, camaraderie, encouragement and fun. It also encourages greater adherence to your programme. Having an exercise ‘buddy’ has been proven to increase commitment to a fitness regime – here you’ll have 3 of them! It doesn’t take long for your small group to truly become a small team.

Each group will have their own messaging group to provide support, not only with the training, but with the challenges and idiosyncrasies of living with and managing HSD that we deal with on a daily basis. It’s good to talk! (You can of course choose to opt out of this, should you wish.)
